Chiemgauer Musikfrühling is a chamber music festival, which takes place in the idyllic landscape of Bavarian Chiemgau, the place of culture, inspiration and friendship.
We believe that the future of classical music lies not only in well known concert halls, but also in the intimate atmosphere of a festival, where the audience has a chance to be a part of an intimate creative process, to meet the musicians and to rediscover the meaning of chamber music making.
Our artists include some of the most exciting young performers on today’s international stage. They gather in Traunstein every spring for the intensive rehearsals, concerts and a glass or two of wine afterwards.
We are continuing the rich tradition of European chamber music making on the higest level, at the same time creating unusual and innovative programmes, which involve other arts – literature, painting, photography and video installation.
One of our aims is to bring younger people closer to classical music; we organise special children concerts and are delighted to see what a success they proved to be.
Projects like “The Silky Way” with the band Gitanes Blondes in the Schnitzlbaumer Brewery or “Urban Experiments” – music and video installation in cooperation with famous DJ’s and VJ’s from Bucharest – gave another dimension to the Chiemgauer Musikfrühling and attracted a wider audience.
