Pèlerinages
Pelerinages is a new chamber music series in Munich. The inspiration for the title came from Liszt’s piano cycle Anees de pelerinages. It is a journey, which leads to new worlds, but most importantly a soul- searching experience, the existential dilemma of an artist. Each concert of the Pelerinages is dedicated to a particular composer, musical idea or personality.
Pelerinages is a place where it is possible to for the musicians to meet outside their extremely busy careers and to make music with friends, on a more intimate level. Every artist knows and loves that feeling of an intermezzo, a sight – reading marathon till after midnight, delight and exhilaration of opening a new score. Pelerinages makes this possible, to share these moments of self-discovery with an audience.
The concerts take place in the Allerheiligen Hofkirche der Residenz in Munich. Ensemble Raro is ensemble en residence for the entire series, sharing the stage with well-known soloists, chamber musicians and singers, among them Adrian Brendel, Marlis Petersen, Priya Mitchell, Olivier Tardy, members of the casalQuartett, etc.
We have developed a partnership with the Bavarian Radio and our portraits of George Enescu and Stefan Braunfels received a wide critical acclaim.
