Diana Ketler, Piano
Diana Ketler was born in Riga into a well-known family of musicians. She gave her debut at the age of 11 with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vassily Sinaisky.
Diana studied at the Latvian Academy of Music under T. Bikis, Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg under Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and the Royal Academy of Music in London under Prof. Christopher Elton.
She has performed with orchestras and given solo and chamber music recitals in Britain, Japan, Canada and most European countries, in halls such as Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, South Bank Centre in London, Glenn Gould Studios in Toronto, Tokyo Opera City Hall, Osaka Symphony Hall, Atheneum in Bucharest and other prestigious venues. Diana has collaborated with artists such as Wolfram Christ, Konstantin Lifschitz, Daishin Kashimoto, Mark Padmore, Adrian Brendel, Baiba Skride, Priya Mitchell, Remus Azoitei, Inga Kalna and Marlis Petersen.
Diana has worked together with composers such as Ligeti, Part, Donatoni and Vasks and gave a number of British premieres of the works by the contemporary Baltic composers.
Dianas performances have been broadcast in Japan (NHK), Germany (BR), UK (BBC 3, Classic FM), Latvian (LNT, LR) and Romania (TVR, RRC, RRM).
Since 2003 Diana is professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She has given master classes in Spain, Czech Republic, England, Latvia and Japan and has served as a jury member in international piano competitions.
Since 2003 Diana is artistic director of the Chiemgauer Musikfrühling Festival in Traunstein, Germany.
